Way To Health foundation has been given a shipping container remodeled as a very applicable medical clinic. The container is in Houston, TX and will be shipped and set up in Cite Soleil. Donations are being given now for the security construction and running the clinic regularly for these poor people. Consistent donors have made this project possible. Thank you God for them. Clinic days are long from early am until sunset. In country Doctors and Nurses are hired to work with us treating 100 to 250 patients per day. The patients' vital signs and chief compliant are taken by the nursing staff. The Doctors assess and diagnose. If medications are ordered, the patient is given a 20-day supply with teaching from the staff. Often reading glasses are donated, if so a missionary will assess for correct strength. Diseases encountered are Tuberculosis, Typhoid, Cholera, Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Intestinal Worms, Malnourishment, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. For those patients who are unable to walk to the clinic because of weakness and illness, the mission team will pack medical supplies, medications and assessment tools and walk to see them. Way to Health is run entirely by volunteers, donating their time and skills to run the foundation. Your donation goes directly to purchase medications, supplies and in country medical assistance.
Way to Health missionaries team up with Haitian medical staff to treat diseases of 70 prostitutes who work the streets near downtown Port Au Prince. Many of the girls have no choice but to sell their bodies for $1 US "until the man is satisfied." Our youngest, Melecca is 14 years old. She has no shelter or home and lives on the streets. Her parents are both dead, and she has been selling herself since she was 10 years old to feed herself one meal a day. Her demeanor is shy, quiet and noticeably embarrassed by her profession. When we offered her a creole bible, she softly answered "yes" although we found out later she cannot read. The clinic offers RN MSPP (Haiti's Department of Health) education, MD assessment and a health kit containing: Doxycycline, Metronidazole, Metro nystatin ovules, Fluconazole, Depo-Provera injection. The goal is to offer these women a free medical clinic, comfort and acceptance, and a future safe house to teach them a skill. Please donate to help these women.
